How to do the Storm Dance trend, beat by beat

The Storm Dance trend beat by beat: film it yourself, or add a photo of you and get the 27-second video with the song and no watermark.

Beat by beat

The whole scene runs 27 seconds. These are the beats:

  1. 0:00, the close-up: you, up close in front of the crowd, staring into the lens.
  2. 0:05, the walk back: you turn away and walk back into the crowd in black suits.
  3. 0:16, the stare: the camera pulls back; nobody moves, and you stare down the lens from the middle.
  4. 0:21, eyes to the sky: the whole crowd throws its head back to the sky, but you don’t.
  5. 0:24, the bows: on the stone steps they bow and look up on every beat, around you, until the end.

Film it yourself

  • Gather as many friends as you can, all in the same dark clothes, on some wide outdoor steps.
  • Put the one who wears something different in the middle, with their back to the camera.
  • Film from a tripod: the turn and the stare first, then a wide shot from further back.
  • On the beat, everyone bows and then looks up at the sky together, while the one in the middle doesn’t move.

Post it with the Storm Dance sound, so it shows up with the rest of the trend. Not sure what it is? The explainer has the whole story.

Or make it from a photo of you

  1. Open the Storm Dance page.
  2. Add a photo of you: your face toward the camera, sharp and well lit, in good light. The photo guide shows what works.
  3. Press Make my video and sign in when you’re asked. It’s ready in a few minutes. You can close the page: the video waits in My videos and we email you when it’s ready.
  4. Download the MP4, with the song and no watermark, and post it to TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.

Each video uses credits from a pack or a monthly plan. See pricing.

Questions

Do I need a crowd to film it?

Not for the AI version. You add one photo of you; the crowd, the steps and the bows come from the trend.

Does the AI video come with the song?

Yes. The song is already in your video. If a platform mutes it, pick the STORM II sound from its library when you post.

What if the video fails?

You don’t pay for it: what it used goes back to your balance automatically, and you can try again with another photo.
