The Toc Toc prompts

Here’s a free Toc Toc AI prompt for a person and one for a pet, written in our own words to paste into any image-to-video app. Each one walks the app through the hallway dance second by second: the march, the knock knock, the shrug, the hops and the ta-da.

Person

Vertical 9:16, 11 seconds, photoreal, one continuous shot with no cuts. Use the person in my reference photo: keep their face, hair, body and clothes exactly. Setting: a narrow, bare apartment hallway with off-white walls, a white door on the left, a low white chest of drawers and a light wooden floor. The phone lies on the floor at one end, tilted up, and never moves. They dance with a deadpan face, bouncy and silly, every hop landing with both feet planted. 0–1 s: a high-knee march straight at the phone until their knees fill the frame. 1–2 s: they hop back so the whole body is in view and kick one foot forward. 2–3 s: on one foot, one knee raised, a loose fist knocking twice on an invisible door beside the head. 3–4 s: a bouncy shrug, arms out low, palms up. 4–5 s: a hop to turn side-on. 5–8 s: side-on, springy steps on the spot, then hops on one foot with the other heel kicked up behind. 8–9 s: a hop back to face the camera. 9–11 s: both arms flung open wide, one knee up, held still: ta-da. Sound: a bouncy French party song with a strong, steady beat. Avoid: sliding feet, camera moves, cuts, extra people, text on screen.

Cat or dog

Vertical 9:16, 11 seconds, photoreal, one continuous shot with no cuts. Use the animal in my reference photo: keep its breed, fur, markings and size exactly. Setting: a narrow, bare hallway with off-white walls, a white door and a light wooden floor. The phone lies on the floor, tilted up, and never moves. The pet dances on its hind legs, copying a human dancer with its own body. Every move is made with real furry paws, never hands or fingers. Its hind feet stay planted on every hop. 0–1 s: already upright right by the phone, front paws up at its chest, filling the frame. 1–2 s: it hops backwards on its hind legs until its whole body is in view. 2–3 s: small hops, one front paw raised by its head, tapping the air twice like knocking. 3–4 s: a bouncy shrug, both front legs out to the sides. 4–9 s: it turns side-on and hops on one hind leg, the other kicked back, on every beat, then hops back to face the camera. 9–11 s: both front legs flung open wide, standing tall and proud, held. Sound: a bouncy French party song with a strong, steady beat. Avoid: human hands, fingers, sliding, extra animals, camera moves, cuts.

A prompt gives the app a plan, not a promise. Two or three runs is normal.

How to use the prompt

  1. Open an AI video app with image-to-video or a reference-image mode, such as Kling, Higgsfield, Runway, Veo or CapCut’s AI video.
  2. Upload your photo: you head to feet, or your pet’s whole body.
  3. Paste the matching prompt and set the shape to 9:16.
  4. If the app’s clips are shorter, keep the march, the knock and the ta-da and drop the strut.
  5. Generate, compare it with the stills below, and add the Toc Toc sound when you post (how).

The shots, one by one

Check your result against these beats. A missing one tells you which line to make stronger.

A man with an afro in an orange swirl shirt and maroon flares marches toward the camera with one knee high
0–1 s: the high-knee march into the lens
The same man on one foot, knee up, one fist raised beside his head as if knocking on a door
2–3 s: knee up, knock knock
The man shrugging with both arms held out low, palms up
3–4 s: the shrug
The man side-on to the camera, hopping with one knee raised
4–9 s: side-on, the heel-kick hops
The man facing the camera with both arms flung open wide
9–11 s: arms open, ta-da

The low camera matters more than it looks. From the floor, the march looms into the lens and the hops look bigger. If your app films at eye level, say “phone on the floor, tilted up” again in the setting line.

Variants

  • Disco: add “an afro, a swirly orange shirt and flared trousers” to the person line, if that’s what you’re wearing in the photo.
  • Your own hallway: describe yours in the setting line, and keep the phone on the floor.
  • Platform shoes: say “chunky platform shoes, each hop landing heavy” for a stompier version.
  • Small dog or cat: add “short legs, small hops, ears bouncing”.
  • Couple: “two people side by side doing every move in sync”. Expect more retries.

Fix-it table

What you seeWhyWhat to change
Feet slide along the floorThe app blurs hops into a glideAdd “each hop lands with both feet planted” to the action line
The camera is at eye levelThe floor angle got lostRepeat “phone on the floor, tilted up” in the format line
No knock knockThe move is too smallWrite “one fist up by the head, knocking twice, clearly”
Your pet grows handsIt copies a human too closelyMove “real furry paws, never fingers” up to the second line
The dancer walks in from outsideThe app adds an entranceStart with “already standing by the phone”
Too slow for the songNo tempo givenAdd “every move on the beat, snappy”

Photo tips

  • You: head to feet, facing the camera, soft light, shoes visible. The hops need your legs.
  • Pet: the whole body, at its eye level. Sitting or standing both work.
  • One subject only.
  • Only yourself, your own pet or an adult who has said yes. Never a celebrity or a child.

What the prompt can’t do

  • It can’t add the song; you add it when you post.
  • It can’t hit the beat on its own, because the app never hears the song.
  • It can’t give the same result twice.
  • It can’t always keep a pet’s paws from turning into hands, so retries are part of it.

The no-prompt route

Rather skip the retries? The Toc Toc page takes one photo of you or your pet and gives the dance back on the beat, with the song in the file. One Standard video uses 45 credits. The smallest pack that makes one is $12.90 for 90 credits (2 videos), a one-time buy whose credits never expire, and plans start at $19.90 a month for 270 credits. If a video fails, its credits come back.

Questions

What is the Toc Toc AI prompt?

A timed description of the hallway dance that you paste into an image-to-video app with your photo. Person and pet versions are above.

Does the Toc Toc prompt work with my cat?

Yes. Use the pet version with a full-body photo of your cat. It asks for real paws and planted hops.

Which app should I use for the Toc Toc AI trend?

Any app with image-to-video and a vertical shape, such as Kling, Higgsfield, Runway, Veo or CapCut’s AI video. Results vary from run to run.

Why do the feet slide in my Toc Toc AI video?

Apps tend to blur hops into a glide. Add “each hop lands with both feet planted” and run it again.

Why is there no song in my clip?

AI apps don’t add it. Pick the Toc Toc sound when you post; the [sound guide](/guides/add-the-toc-toc-sound-on-tiktok-and-reels) shows how.

Is the Toc Toc prompt free?

Yes. The app you run it in may charge for its own credits.
