The Nightwing AI video prompt

Here’s the copy-ready prompt for the Nightwing trend, the same one we use for the hero suit: you lift a blue mask to your eyes in your own clothes against a violet wall, the camera whips on the beat drop, and you’re in a dark purple room in a black suit with one blue stripe, spinning two glowing batons, ending close up. Attach your photo as the reference image and paste it in.

Person, hero suit

A vertical 9:16 phone video, exactly 10 seconds, photoreal live action in full natural colour: two shots joined by one fast whip pan at 02.5, like a TikTok transformation. The phone is on a tripod at chest height. No other cuts. No text, no subtitles, no labels, no logos, no watermarks. [00:00-02.5] the lead stands in front of a plain flat lavender-violet wall in soft even daylight, in exactly the clothes from @Image1, seen from the knees up. They raise a small royal-blue domino eye mask in one hand and lift it up to their eyes, looking into the lens with a little smirk. [02.5] a fast sideways whip pan with heavy motion blur on the beat drop. [02.5-05.5] a dark living room at night lit only by purple and magenta LED strip light, a dark sofa behind them, deep shadows. The lead is now in the costume and the mask and dances with the two glowing batons, seen head to toe: twirling them at the sides, then crossing them behind the head and spinning them. [05.5-07.5] they swing both out wide and back in, stepping side to side on the beat, leaving short light trails. [07.5-10.0] the camera pushes in to a chest-up close-up; they finish with one baton resting on the shoulder, the masked eyes on the lens. COSTUME after the cut: a matte black long-sleeved bodysuit with black trousers and black gloves, and ONE plain, straight, thin royal-blue stripe running horizontally high across the upper chest, at armpit height, from one shoulder to the other: one single band, never two, never at the waist, never a belt. A small royal-blue domino eye mask over the eyes. In each hand a black baton about forearm length with a glowing electric-blue light strip along it. No symbol, no bird shape, no V shape, no emblem, no logo, no cape, no armour plates. IDENTITY: the lead is exactly the person from @Image1 in every frame, before and after the cut, so it is clearly the same person: the same face shape, jaw, mouth, age, skin tone, hairstyle and hair colour, and the EXACT body weight and build, never slimmer, taller or younger. After the cut only the clothes change. 真人实拍、五官清晰、面部稳定、不扭曲、不变形、人体结构正常、同一角色、发型不变. Avoid: a bird, V or winged emblem on the chest, any logo, a cape, a superhero logo, a stripe at the waist, two stripes, a belt, batons turning into swords or sticks without light, more than two batons, a comic-book look, a cartoon look, the costume before 02.5, the own clothes after 02.5, a second person, face changes, a different person after the cut, a slimmer body after the cut, captions, text, watermarks, extra cuts, extra arms, extra fingers, distorted hands, morphing faces.

A prompt gives the tool a plan, not a promise; two or three runs is normal. Want it without a prompt, with the song in? The Nightwing page makes it from one photo.

How to use it

A laptop on a desk at night showing an AI video tool, with a reference selfie on the left, a long prompt in the middle and a preview on the right
Reference photo attached, prompt pasted, vertical selected.
  1. Open an AI video tool’s image-to-video or reference-image mode: Kling, Higgsfield, Runway, Veo or CapCut’s AI video all have one.
  2. Attach one photo of you facing the camera, knees up or head to toe.
  3. Paste the prompt. If your tool doesn’t use @Image1 for the first photo, swap it for “the person in my reference photo”.
  4. Set 9:16 and 10 seconds, or the nearest length. Turn off the tool’s own music if it adds some.
  5. Generate, watch it against the frames below, and use the fix-it table for anything off.

What each part of the prompt does

The first line

Two shots joined by one whip pan at 02.5, a phone on a tripod at chest height, and no other cuts. Saying where the cut goes, and how, stops the tool from switching outfits halfway through a shot or adding cuts of its own. “Like a TikTok transformation” tells it the kind of clip in four words.

The timed beats

Each line owns a slice of the 10 seconds: the mask-up until 02.5, the whip exactly at 02.5, the baton dance, the wide swings, then the push in from 07.5. The whip sits at 02.5 because that’s where the drop lands in the song: we render the video silent and lay the song over it from the start, so a whip on time means a whip on the beat.

The two rooms

A plain flat lavender-violet wall in soft daylight for the first shot, and a dark living room lit only by purple and magenta strip light for the second. The jump from bright to dark is half the transformation, so both rooms are described rather than left to chance.

COSTUME

The longest line, because it’s the one tools get wrong. Left alone, they draw the blue band at the waist like a belt, or draw two. So the line says where the stripe goes in three ways (high across the upper chest, at armpit height, shoulder to shoulder) and then where it doesn’t (never two, never at the waist, never a belt). The batons get a length and a glow so they don’t turn into swords. The last sentence keeps the suit plain: no symbol, no emblem, no logo, no cape.

No name

The prompt never names a character. A name pulls in comic-book versions with a symbol on the chest and a cartoon finish; a plain description gets the trend’s look and keeps the suit generic.

IDENTITY

A whip is where faces drift: the tool sees a new room and a new outfit and is tempted to make a new person too. So this line says the same thing more than one way on purpose: the same face shape, jaw, mouth, age, skin tone, hair and build before and after the cut, and only the clothes change. The jaw and mouth are named because the mask covers the eyes. The line in Chinese repeats it for models that follow Chinese more closely.

Avoid

The things video tools tend to get wrong in this clip, named so they’re less likely: emblems and logos, a cape, a waist stripe, two stripes, batons without light, the costume showing up before the whip, your own clothes showing up after it, a different person after the cut, text and the usual hand problems.

There’s no sound line. We make the video silent and lay the song over the whole 10 seconds afterwards, with the drop on the whip, so do the same: add the song when you post.

Shot by shot: what each line does

A woman with long dark hair in a grey sweatshirt and black trousers lifts a small blue mask to her eyes against a lavender wall
0:00: the mask, in your own clothes
The same woman against the lavender wall, the frame streaked with motion blur as the camera starts to whip away
0:02: the whip, on the beat drop
The woman, now in a black suit with a blue stripe and a blue mask, holds two glowing batons in a dark living room lit purple and magenta
0:03: the suit and the batons
The woman seen from behind and to the side, swinging two glowing batons crossed overhead, leaving trails of blue light
0:05: the batons, crossed overhead
A chest-up close-up of the woman smiling under the blue mask, a glowing baton by her shoulder
0:08: the close-up, a baton on the shoulder
  • The mask: “seen from the knees up” leaves room for the arm lift, and “a little smirk” gives the before shot its attitude.
  • The whip: “fast, sideways, heavy motion blur” is what hides the change of clothes and room; a slow pan shows the seam.
  • The suit: “seen head to toe” right after the whip shows off the whole costume before the dance starts.
  • The batons: “out wide and back in” and “short light trails” make the glow read as movement, not just two lights.
  • The close-up: the push in from 07.5 and the baton on the shoulder give the clip a clean ending and a loop point.

Variants

The fairy dress

Keep the first line, the mask-up, the whip, the 05.5 line and IDENTITY as they are. Replace the 02.5 and 07.5 lines and the COSTUME line with the ones below, and swap the start of the Avoid line for the fairy one, keeping the rest of it from “a comic-book look” on. The point is the same dance and the same serious face, only in lilac.

Fairy dress lines

[02.5-05.5] a bedroom at night washed in purple and violet light, a curtain of tiny warm fairy lights on the wall behind them, a bed with purple covers. The lead is now in the fairy dress, wings and tiara and dances with a golden star wand in each hand, completely serious, seen head to toe: twirling them at the sides, then crossing them behind the head and spinning them. [07.5-10.0] the camera pushes in to a chest-up close-up; they finish with one star wand resting on the shoulder and a cool, unbothered look into the lens. COSTUME after the cut: a lilac satin fairy-princess dress with short puffy sleeves, a fitted bodice and a full floor-length skirt; big sheer iridescent fairy wings on the back; a small silver tiara on the head; in each hand a golden star wand about forearm length. No mask after the cut: the whole face is seen, deadpan and serious, as if this were a superhero costume. Avoid (start of the line): a black suit, batons, a mask after the cut, a cartoon fairy, glitter covering the face, more than two wands, …

Your pet

For a cat or a dog, use this one instead with a photo of your pet sitting up. It always gets the suit: the fairy dress is for people.

Pet

A vertical 9:16 phone video, exactly 10 seconds, photoreal live action in full natural colour: two shots joined by one fast whip pan at 02.5, like a TikTok pet transformation. The phone is on a tripod at the pet's eye height. No other cuts. No text, no subtitles, no labels, no logos, no watermarks. WHO: the star is exactly the pet from @Image1 in every frame, before and after the cut: the same species, breed, size, fur colour and markings, face and eyes. It is a real animal, photoreal, never a cartoon, never a person in a pet costume. [00:00-02.5] the pet sits upright in front of a plain flat lavender-violet wall in soft even daylight, seen whole, looking into the lens, already holding a small royal-blue domino eye mask in one front paw. Straight away it lifts the mask up to its eyes; by 02.0 the mask is on. This first shot is short: only two and a half seconds. [02.5] exactly at 02.5, never later, a fast sideways whip pan with heavy motion blur on the beat drop. [02.5-05.5] a dark living room at night lit only by purple and magenta LED strip light, a dark sofa behind. The pet stands upright on its hind legs, now wearing a small black pet suit with ONE thin royal-blue stripe running horizontally across the chest from one shoulder to the other (sideways, never vertical, no zip) and the blue domino mask over its eyes, holding a short glowing electric-blue baton in each front paw. It bobs side to side on the beat and twirls the batons. [05.5-07.5] it swings both batons out wide and crosses them over its head, the blue light leaving short trails. [07.5-10.0] the camera pushes in to a close-up of the masked face; the pet rests one baton on its shoulder and stares into the lens. The mask and the suit fit the pet snugly; its ears, fur, tail and paws stay its own. No symbol, no bird shape, no V shape, no emblem, no logo, no cape. 宠物外观稳定、毛色花纹不变、同一只宠物、不变形. Avoid: a whip after 02.5, a vertical stripe or zip line, a person, human hands, a human body with an animal head, a cartoon look, a different animal after the cut, a changed fur colour, the suit before 02.5, a bird or V emblem, a cape, a logo, more than two batons, captions, text, watermarks, extra cuts, extra legs, distorted paws, morphing faces.

The pet version says “exactly at 02.5, never later” and keeps the first shot to two and a half seconds, because tools like to linger on a pet before the whip. It still lands late sometimes. The stripe is “sideways, never vertical, no zip” so that on a small suit it stays a band across the chest and doesn’t turn into a zip line down the front.

Shorter clip

If your tool only makes 5 seconds, keep the mask-up and the whip at 02.5, then go straight to the close-up with a baton on the shoulder. Drop the wide swings. The switch is the part people watch for.

Fix it: symptom and change

What went wrongChange in the prompt
The stripe is at the waist, or looks like a beltKeep the whole stripe line word for word and “a stripe at the waist, a belt” in Avoid; retry, since it still slips now and then
Two stripesKeep “one single band, never two” and “two stripes” in Avoid
A symbol or logo on the chestKeep “No symbol, no emblem, no logo” in COSTUME and the emblem words in Avoid; never add a character name
A different face after the whipKeep the IDENTITY line word for word and use a sharper photo facing the camera, jaw and mouth clear
You look slimmer or taller in the suitKeep “the EXACT body weight and build, never slimmer, taller or younger” and “a slimmer body after the cut” in Avoid
The costume shows before the whipKeep “in exactly the clothes from @Image1” in the first beat and “the costume before 02.5” in Avoid
The whip comes late or not at allKeep “[02.5] a fast sideways whip pan” as its own line; for a pet, keep “exactly at 02.5, never later”
The batons turn into swords or stop glowingKeep “a glowing electric-blue light strip along it” and “batons turning into swords or sticks without light” in Avoid
It looks like a cartoonKeep “photoreal live action” in the first line and “a comic-book look, a cartoon look” in Avoid

Tips for free tools

A young woman with long dark hair in a shiny black suit with a wide blue chest stripe and a blue mask holds batons against a bright purple wall
An AI take: check the stripe and the face first
  • Most free tiers add a watermark. Check before you plan to post.
  • Free tiers often make shorter clips. Use the shorter-clip variant above rather than cramming every beat into 5 seconds.
  • Budget for retries. Check the frame just after the whip first: that’s where the face and the stripe go wrong.
  • Don’t cut the stripe or emblem lines to save space; they’re the fix.
  • Try the same prompt in two tools and keep the one that looks most like you.

The photo you attach

A woman with long dark hair in a grey sweatshirt and black trousers stands in a white hallway, facing the camera
Facing the camera, knees up or head to toe, good light
  • Face toward the camera, sharp and well lit, nothing covering it. The mask covers your eyes later, so your jaw, mouth and hair do the work of looking like you.
  • Knees up or head to toe: the video opens with you seen from the knees up, in the clothes from your photo, and the suit shot is head to toe.
  • No sunglasses or hats that hide your face.
  • Just you, no group photos, and only your own photo or an adult’s who has said yes. No celebrities and no one under 18.
  • For a pet: its whole body, sitting up, at its eye level, in good light.

Examples are in the photo guide.

What a prompt can’t do

  • Add the song. You pick the Stereo Love funk sound when you post.
  • Promise the stripe on the chest every time. Tools still put it at the waist now and then, so check each run.
  • Promise the same face after the whip every time, or a pet’s whip right on the drop.
  • Promise the same take twice. Every run is a new room and a new dance.

The no-prompt route: add one photo on the Nightwing page and get the finished video with the song in, in the hero suit, the fairy dress or the pet suit. If it fails, the credits come back automatically, and prices are on Pricing. Comparing options? See CapCut vs AI vs one photo.

Questions

What is the prompt for the Nightwing trend?

Describe a vertical 10-second video in two shots joined by a whip pan at 2.5 seconds: you lift a blue mask in your own clothes against a violet wall, then you’re in a black suit with one blue stripe, spinning two glowing batons in a purple room. The full copy-ready prompt is at the top of this guide.

What does @Image1 mean?

It’s the photo you attach first. If your tool doesn’t name reference images that way, replace each @Image1 with “the person in my reference photo”.

Why is there a line in Chinese?

It repeats the identity rules: real footage, clear and steady features, no warping, the same person and the same hairstyle. Some video models follow it closely. If your tool ignores it, it does no harm, and you can delete it.

Why is my stripe at the waist?

Video tools tend to draw a band across the middle, like a belt. Keep the whole stripe line, “high across the upper chest, at armpit height” and “never at the waist, never a belt”, and keep “a stripe at the waist” in Avoid. Even then it still slips sometimes, so check each run.

Why doesn’t the prompt name the character?

A name pulls in a comic-book version with a logo on the chest. Describing a plain black suit with one stripe gets the look of the trend without anyone’s symbol.

Will the prompt add the song?

No. There’s no sound line in it: we make the video silent and lay the song over it afterwards, with the drop on the whip. Pick the Stereo Love funk sound on TikTok or Reels when you post.
