Crée le tienThe short answer
The cheapest Toc Toc costs nothing but a hallway and some nerve: the original was one take on a phone lying on the floor. If you’d rather not dance, or want your dog to, our free prompt works in AI video apps that let you try a few clips. Neither free route puts the Patrick Sébastien song in the file for you.
| Route | You bring | You end up with | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Film it yourself | A phone, a hallway, 11 seconds | The real dance, with your own moves | You have to dance it, and your cat won’t |
| Our prompt in an AI app | One full-length photo and the prompt | An AI hallway dance starring you or your dog | Gliding feet, missing knocks, several runs |
| CapCut template | CapCut and a few pictures | Your pictures swapped on the knocks | No dance in it |
| One photo on NowStarring | One photo and credits | All nine moves on the beat, song included | Costs credits; we don’t give free ones |

Film it yourself: the shot plan
The original is one take in a bare hallway, filmed from a phone lying on the floor and tilted up a little. Prop it on a rolled-up sock or a book at one end, start at the far end, and play the song out loud.

- 0–1 s: march straight at the phone with big high knees, until your knees fill the frame.
- 1–2 s: hop backwards so your whole body is in view, and kick one foot forward.
- 2–3 s: on one foot, knee up, knock twice on an invisible door beside your head.
- 3–4 s: a bouncy shrug, arms out low, palms up.
- 4–5 s: hop round to side-on.
- 5–6.5 s: strut on the spot with springy steps, arms swinging.
- 6.5–8 s: hop on one foot, the other heel kicked up behind you, on every beat.
- 8–9 s: hop back round to face the phone.
- 9–11 s: ta-da: arms flung wide, one knee up, and hold it to the end.
- Land every hop with your feet planted. Sliding looks wrong, on camera and in AI.
- Keep a straight face. The deadpan is half the joke; save the grin for the ta-da.
- Clear the hallway floor: you’ll be looking at the phone, not your feet.
Running the free Toc Toc prompt
Kling, Higgsfield, Runway, Veo and CapCut’s AI video all do image-to-video. What’s free changes often, so look at each app’s current trial before you start. The trick with Toc Toc is that the app can’t see the original, so the hallway, the floor-level camera and the nine moves all have to be written out.
- Choose a photo where your shoes are visible and you’re facing the lens. For a dog, all four legs and both ears.
- Copy the person or pet version from our Toc Toc AI prompt guide.
- Start an image-to-video clip in portrait 9:16 with the photo and the prompt.
- Check the hops: if the feet glide or the knock never happens, the prompt guide’s fix-it table says what to change.
- Save it and put the song on when you post; the Toc Toc sound guide has the timings.

The Toc Toc dance with your cat or dog
The most copied pet version is a corgi already standing at the lens, then knocking with a paw and bouncing down the hall. No dog learns that, so for pets the choice is the free prompt or one photo here.

- Take the photo at your pet’s height, legs and ears in view, in daylight.
- Use the pet prompt: it asks for paws on the knock and hops on the hind legs.
- Short legs are fine. A dachshund’s hops are smaller and twice as funny.
The paid route: one photo
Upload a head-to-feet photo of you, or a photo of your pet, on the Toc Toc page. You get the hallway, the low camera and every move back as an 11-second vertical clip with the song, ready in a few minutes and waiting in My videos. There’s no watermark, and the smallest pack, $9.90 for 90 credits, covers 2 Standard videos.
