Put your dog or cat on lead in the Tiny Desk AI video, with more pets on sax, keys and backup. How pet mode works and which pet photos to use.

On the Tiny Desk page, switch “Who is in the photo” from Person to Pet. Every seat at the desk turns into an animal: your pets in the seats you fill, made-up pets in the rest. They wear headphones like the real band, shout the hook, and the one on lead gets the laugh.
Who plays what
- Lead: the pet with the most expressive face. The close-up is all them.
- Sax: a pet that looks serious most of the time; the joke is the solemn solo.
- Keys: the pet that always sits front and centre at home anyway.
- Backup mics: the household’s second and third pets, or friends’ pets for a group video.
Pet bands are new for this meme, so there’s no house style yet. A dog on lead with cats on backup, or one cat with four made-up dogs around it, are both fair game.
Pet photos that work
One animal per photo, eyes open, ears in frame. Costumes and collars with tags tend to show up in the video, so take them off if you don’t want them in the band.

Can my dog sing lead?
Yes. Switch “Who is in the photo” to Pet and add your dog’s photo to the Lead seat. It gets the close-up with the big laugh.
Do I need five pets?
No, one is enough. Empty seats get made-up animal musicians, so the band is all pets either way.
Can a person and a pet be in the same band?
Not in one video: the switch sets the whole band to people or to pets.
Does it cost more for pets?
No. A pet band uses the same 90 credits as a band of people.
